In 2024 and following a fight for greater visibility and fair representation in the Census, New Jersey passed a bill that would require agencies that collect demographic information to disaggregate for Meddle East and North African (MENA communities) and Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities. With accurate data disaggregated by ethnicity or origin, NJ can ensure resources and interventions are best focused.
